online security

I learned that online security is very important and theres many things you have to do to make sure you and your computer are safe.  Dont click on side pop up and dont put your inforation online unless you know what it is and what it will be used for.  If you arent careul then there could be a possibility that your information could end up getting out and people could get it and you could end up getting a virus on your computer.

i thought that this was very interesting to read. It kind of got me thinking about how its true how in our minds we tie things together that just stick in our minds.  What we see and learn just gets embedded in our minds and without thinking they come up in everyday life.  it says that we are at the top of our food chain and i believe this is true.  Other animals dont think like we do.  We are very clever and different things regeister to our minds like grabbing the knife because someone told you to.   we know we cant go against other animals and win but with our resources we cant defeat any other animal that crosses our path.

I dont really understand where goodman brown went. where did he go?  this was a very hard read for me.  Goodman brown really cared for his wife.  Was good man brown associated with the devil?

Earth on Turtles Back

The tone of Earth on Turtles Back is that the author is showing that a lot of people think in the same mind frame and they dont go out if their comfort zone but theirs always those few people or in this case animals that stand out and always make a difference in society. The mood of the story is more happy and sincere.  It makes you feel like maybe you could make a difference in someones life if you just reach out and help them.

reflections on week 1

1) I have plenty access to a computer as well as family and friends who can help me if i ever need it.  I have a few friends who are taking this course so i can contact them if i need to.   The only thing that can get in the way of me doing my work online is if my internet goes down or I have training which i sometime dont get home till about 9 but thats only for half of the week.

2) I had an experience just like the myth i just read where i went to a tournament in morro bay and i thought i was going to be put against girls but it turned out that there was none so they placed me in the boys division. I freaked out and didnt know what do to all i did was I fought my hardest even though i wasnt as strong and big as everyone else but i still came out with a medal.  this experience showed me that size didnt matter. If i put in the hard work and took my time i could win and that is what i did.  my friends and family stood by my side the whole time to make sure ivgot through itnwith my sanity. This has taught me to never underestimate myself no matter what the situation is big or small.

3) In this class I am looking forward to all of our learning that is going to be taking place online.  Blogger is new to me so that will also be new to me. I am concerned about me being able to always go online because of my training and i feel like this will take a lot of getting used to.  I feel like this will make a difference in my life by just giving me new knowledge about the internet that i didnt have before   .  It will teach me a lot about what i cam do to better myself for my future

vocabulary quiz

     From the first week of being here i already feel i am going to BURGEON to this class.  I am looking forward to your DIDACTIC but i feel it could be CURMDGEON to my skill level.  Sometimes I may seem CONTUMACIOUS but i am very ASCETIC to my work.  I hope this course isnt BEGUILE.  My idea of APOTHEOSIS in this class would be to recieve the BAUBLE of getting an A in this course.  I ADUMBRATE this class to be very educational as well as fun.  I COMPLEMENT  Dr. Preston for coming up with this creative idea for a vocabulary quiz even though it was very CURMDGEON. 

assignment #1

     My reasoning for taking this course is that it is required by the school for me to graduate.  Im not really good with english so im going to struggle with it.  However i will try my best and get through this class.  Im very excited for being in this class because its taking a new path with the way were learning. I have never heard of a teacher using the internet to teach and i think its going to be very interesting. 
     My goals for this class is to at least get a B.  I would like to turn in all my assignments and not fall behind. Since this is an online course i would really need to take time out of my day to go on a computer but i can manage with that.  I feel like my knowledge will expand tremendously while im in this class. I will learn about American literature as well as how to use the internet.  Learning to use the internet will help me a lot in life.  It is an excellent resource to have especially since our world is very dependent on the internet.
